Invisalign Clear Aligners in West Vancouver and North Vancouver

If you've been thinking about straightening your teeth but don't want to deal with brackets and wires, Invisalign is probably already on your radar. And for good reason. It's the most popular clear aligner system in the world, and at Royal Orthodontics, it's one of the treatments we offer most. Whether you're coming to us from North Vancouver, West Vancouver, or anywhere across the Lower Mainland, we'd love to show you what's possible for your smile.
Our clinic is led by Dr. Roya Naseh, a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics (FRCD(C)) with over 25 years of experience. She's treated hundreds of Invisalign patients, teens, adults, and young children, and she takes the time to make sure every treatment plan is built around your specific teeth, your bite, and your goals.

What Is Invisalign and How Does It Work?

Invisalign is a system of custom-made clear plastic aligners that gradually move your teeth into the right position. Instead of metal brackets glued to your teeth, you wear a series of smooth, removable trays, switching to a new set roughly every one to two weeks as your teeth shift.
The whole process starts with a 3D scan of your mouth. At Royal Orthodontics, we use the iTero Element 5D scanner, which is one of the most advanced intraoral scanners available. It takes a precise digital model of your teeth in a matter of minutes with no messy impression trays and no gagging. From that scan, Dr. Naseh builds your treatment plan and can actually show you a simulation of your results before you commit to anything.
The aligners are made from Align Technology's SmartTrack material, a proprietary plastic that applies consistent, gentle pressure across each tooth. They're trimmed to follow your gum line, which makes them more comfortable and nearly invisible when you're wearing them.
Most people wear their aligners 20 to 22 hours a day. You take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss. That's it. There are no food restrictions, no emergency appointments for broken wires, and no discomfort from tightening.

Is Invisalign Right for You?

One of the most common questions we hear is whether Invisalign will actually work for someone's specific situation. The honest answer is that it works well for a wide range of cases, but not every case. Some bite issues are better treated with braces, and some patients may get better results with a combination approach.
Invisalign is generally a great fit if you're dealing with:
  • Crowded teeth when there's not enough room in your jaw and teeth overlap or twist
  • Gaps between teeth spaces that affect appearance and can trap food
  • Overbite when your upper front teeth close too far over your lower teeth
  • Underbite when your lower teeth sit in front of your upper teeth
  • Crossbite when upper and lower teeth don't align properly side to side
  • Open bite when upper and lower front teeth don't meet even when your mouth is closed
  • Mild to moderate bite corrections in both adults and teens
It's not ideal if you have severe skeletal issues, certain types of tooth rotation, or if you're not confident you'll wear the aligners consistently. Dr. Naseh will give you an honest assessment at your consultation and she won't recommend Invisalign if braces would give you a better result.
Not sure if braces might be a better fit? Take a look at our LightForce 3D-printed braces page, which explains one of the most advanced bracing options we offer and a popular alternative for more complex cases.

Invisalign Options for Every Stage of Life

Invisalign isn't a one-size-fits-all product. Align Technology has developed specific versions of the treatment for different ages and needs, and we offer all of them at Royal Orthodontics.

Invisalign for Adults

Most of our adult Invisalign patients are in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Professionals, parents, people who had braces as kids but whose teeth have shifted over time. A lot of them tell us they've been wanting to fix their smile for years but didn't want to wear metal braces at work or in social situations. That's exactly what Invisalign is designed for.
Treatment for adults typically takes 12 to 24 months depending on the complexity of the case. Check-ins are usually every 8 to 12 weeks, which fits easily into a busy schedule. And because you remove the aligners to eat and drink, your diet and daily routine stay completely normal.

Invisalign for Teens

Teens often love Invisalign because it doesn't affect how they look in photos, doesn't limit what they eat, and makes oral hygiene much easier than braces. The Invisalign Teen system includes a few features specifically built for this age group, including compliance indicators that help parents confirm the aligners are being worn, and built-in room for teeth that haven't fully erupted yet.
That said, Invisalign for teens does require discipline. The aligners need to be worn consistently to work. Dr. Naseh talks honestly with both teens and parents about this during the consultation, and we'll help you figure out whether it's the right call for your family.

Invisalign First for Younger Children

Invisalign First is designed for children who still have a mix of baby teeth and permanent teeth, typically ages 6 to 10. It's used for Phase 1 orthodontic treatment, where the goal isn't to straighten every tooth but to guide jaw development and address problems early, before they become more complicated to fix later.
If your dentist has mentioned that your child might need early orthodontic treatment, it's worth coming in for an assessment. Many issues that look complicated at age 12 are much more manageable when addressed at age 7 or 8.

Invisalign for North Vancouver Patients

We see a lot of patients from North Vancouver, and we want to be upfront about something. Our main clinic is in West Vancouver, not North Vancouver. We're at 925 Main Street, just off the Upper Levels Highway, which puts us about 10 to 15 minutes from most parts of North Vancouver depending on where you're coming from. The Marine Drive and Taylor Way exit gets you straight to us.
Parking is free and easy. Most patients don't find the drive to be any kind of barrier, especially because Invisalign check-ins are only every 8 to 12 weeks. You're not coming in every few weeks the way you might with braces.
We've built strong relationships with families across the North Shore, from Lynn Valley to Deep Cove to Edgemont Village. If you've been searching for Invisalign near North Vancouver and you want to work with a certified specialist rather than a general dentist who also does aligners on the side, we'd love to meet you.
We've put together a dedicated page with more detail about what to expect as a North Vancouver patient: Invisalign for North Vancouver families.

What Invisalign Treatment Looks Like at Royal Orthodontics

We want you to know exactly what you're getting into before you book anything. Here's how the process actually works.

Step 1: Your Free Consultation

Your first visit starts with a conversation. Dr. Naseh will ask about your goals, what bothers you about your smile, and whether you've had orthodontic treatment before. Then we do a clinical exam and take the iTero 3D scan of your teeth.
From there, Dr. Naseh can run a SmileView simulation right in front of you. You'll see a visual preview of what your teeth could look like after treatment. It's not a guarantee, but it gives you a real sense of what's possible and helps you make an informed decision before committing to anything.
Consultations at Royal Orthodontics are free. You don't need a referral from your dentist, and there's no pressure to commit on the spot. Read about what to expect on your first visit if you'd like to know more before coming in.

Step 2: Your Custom Treatment Plan

If Invisalign is the right treatment for you, Dr. Naseh builds your ClinCheck, a detailed digital treatment plan that maps out exactly how your teeth will move from where they are now to where they need to be. This goes to Align Technology, who fabricates your custom aligners.
Before your aligners arrive, Dr. Naseh may place small tooth-coloured attachments on some of your teeth. These are tiny resin dots that act as anchors, giving the aligners more grip and more control over the direction of tooth movement. Most people barely notice them after the first day or two.

Step 3: Active Treatment

You'll pick up your first set of aligners and Dr. Naseh will walk you through everything. How to take them in and out, how to clean them, what to expect in the first few days. The first 48 hours with a new set of aligners can feel a little tight. That's completely normal and it's actually a sign the treatment is working.
You'll switch to a new set roughly every week or two, and come in for progress checks every 8 to 12 weeks. At those visits we make sure everything is tracking as planned and answer any questions that have come up.
We've also written a helpful post on how long Invisalign takes to show results, which answers one of the most common things we hear from patients mid-treatment.

Step 4: Retention

Once your active treatment is done, your teeth need time to stabilise in their new positions. This is what retainers are for. We fit patients with Vivera retainers, Align Technology's own retainer system, made from the same SmartTrack material as the aligners. They're 30% more durable than generic retainers and custom-made from a digital scan of your finished smile.
If you've finished treatment elsewhere and just need retainers, we can help with that too. Read more about what happens with retainers after Invisalign

Why Patients in West Vancouver and North Vancouver Choose Royal Orthodontics for Invisalign

There are a lot of providers offering Invisalign in the Vancouver area. General dentists, dental chains, even direct-to-consumer options you order online. We think it's worth explaining what makes working with a certified specialist different.

Dr. Naseh Is a Certified Specialist, Not a General Dentist

This is probably the most important thing we can tell you. Dr. Roya Naseh holds the FRCD(C) designation, Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and is a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics. She completed a three-year orthodontic residency, passed the Royal College specialty examination, and has been practising orthodontics exclusively for over 25 years.
Invisalign is offered by thousands of general dentists across BC, which is perfectly legal. But orthodontics is all we do. When you come to Royal Orthodontics, your case is being managed by someone whose entire career has been spent studying how teeth move, not as one service among many.

The iTero Element 5D Scanner

We use one of the most advanced intraoral scanners available. The iTero Element 5D creates a precise 3D digital model of your teeth in minutes, with no messy impression material. It also has near-infrared imaging built in, which can detect early signs of decay between teeth that wouldn't show up on a standard scan. You get a better diagnostic picture and a more accurate treatment plan.
You can also use the SmileView tool to preview your potential result right at the consultation. Try SmileView here.

0% Interest Financing and Direct Insurance Billing

We know orthodontic treatment is a meaningful investment and we try to make it as manageable as possible. We offer 0% interest financing so you can spread the cost over time without paying more. We also direct-bill to most major insurance providers, which means less paperwork and less upfront cost for you.
If you have questions about coverage or payment options before booking, feel free to contact us and our team will walk you through it.

Two Locations in West Vancouver and Downtown Vancouver

Our main clinic is in West Vancouver at 925 Main Street, Unit J2. This is where the majority of our patients come for appointments, including patients from North Vancouver, Burnaby, and across the North Shore.
We also have a Downtown Vancouver location at 529 Beatty Street, where Dr. Naseh sees patients on Thursdays and Fridays. If you work or live in the city core, this may be more convenient for you.
See our contact page for maps, hours, and directions to both locations.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost in Vancouver and North Vancouver?

This is one of the most searched questions about Invisalign, and we'll give you a straight answer. The cost varies depending on the complexity of your case, the number of aligners needed, and the length of treatment. In the Vancouver area, comprehensive Invisalign treatment typically ranges from around $3,500 to $8,000.
At your free consultation, Dr. Naseh will give you an exact quote based on a clinical assessment of your teeth, not a tiered package price.
A few things that affect the final cost:
  • Case complexity mild crowding costs less to treat than a significant bite issue combined with crowding
  • Number of aligners shorter treatment plans with fewer trays cost less
  • Refinements sometimes additional aligners are needed after the main treatment to finish certain tooth positions
  • Retainers Vivera retainers are included in many treatment plans and Dr. Naseh will confirm this at your consultation
Many dental insurance plans in BC include an orthodontic benefit that covers both Invisalign and braces, typically between $1,500 and $3,500 lifetime. We direct-bill to most major insurers, so you usually pay only the difference at each visit. You can also contact our West Vancouver office before your appointment and we'll help you understand your coverage.

Invisalign vs Braces: Which Should You Choose?

We offer both Invisalign and braces at Royal Orthodontics, so we don't have a financial reason to steer you toward one over the other. Dr. Naseh will tell you honestly which treatment will give you the best result for your specific situation.
Here's a practical summary of when each option tends to work better:
Invisalign tends to work well when:
  • You need mild to moderate corrections
  • You want a discreet option for work or social situations
  • You're a motivated adult or teen who will wear the trays consistently
  • You want to eat and drink normally throughout treatment
Braces tend to work better when:
  • You have complex bite corrections needed
  • You want a treatment that doesn't depend on discipline to wear
  • Your case involves significant tooth rotation or vertical movement
  • Your child is young and might lose aligners
  • Your orthodontist has specifically recommended braces for your case
If you're still on the fence, the best thing to do is book a consultation and let Dr. Naseh look at your teeth. You can also read our full post on Invisalign vs braces for a more detailed breakdown.
